Ed Diebner - Drums, Vocals

I was born and raised in a close-knit family in a great neighborhood in Shreveport,  LA.  There was lots of love and affection.  As a child I studied classical guitar and played in various recitals and stringed instrument festivals.  But by the mid - 60's my interest turned to drums.  I played in the marching and concert bands,  orchestra and jazz ensemble and graduated from Captain Shreve High School in 1973.  After getting out of school,  I worked in various club bands in the Shreveport area,  playing country,  rock &  jazz.

My early musical influences were mostly rock bands like The Beatles,  The Guess Who,  Deep Purple,  Grand Funk Railroad,  Uriah Heep,  Foghat and Bloodrock.  One of my favorite bands of all time is Rush.  But I also had a lot of jazz influences as well.

After moving to Nashville in 1992,  the majority of my playing was with The Chessmen,  which is a "show band" formed in 1964.  Wearing tuxedos,  we worked mainly private events - corporate parties,  reunions,  weddings and the like.  We served as the band for Percy Sledge several times and opened for other major acts,  such as The Platters.  I also worked w/ the Nashville-based band Savannah,  which featured 3 power-packed female vocalists doing original material.

Now I'm here with Jack and really feel like I've found a home.  I joined this group in October, 2002 and am having more fun playing music than I have in years.  We've become good friends and I love getting together to jam and enjoy the laughter.  Come see us sometime soon and join the party!
